Why so long?

18 months ago, in Demographics is Destiny, I wrote:

If you haven't got it already, it's time to move your head to this place: iPhone OS is Apple's mainstream platform for 2012 and beyond.

On the day that Apple is expected to turn the world upside down, again, it's time to admit I was wrong.

I should have said 2010.

Nah, I think you were right the first time. It's going to take some time for the tablet to mature as a platform - and that's the point at which the transition will be complete.

I think you are/were right...this is the end and beginning of of the personal computer..in a long term perspective the iterations that led us here will be judged as insignificant details...It will be interesting to see in just 10 years whether we are right..
