Like working on an airplane, booting computers in a hurry is not something we really do
Friday, November 20, 2009 at 8:26AM This Google trailer for ChromeOS seems to rest, in large part, on a strawman argument: that people who urgently need their computer to get on the web have somehow coincidentally always just shut down their machine.
If I've shut down my computer, it's usually a sign that I've sold it to someone else.

The only time you boot a laptop (or even a desktop computer) is when you need to update device drivers. Otherwise it is sitting nicely in sleep mode. And starting up from sleep mode takes less than 2 seconds.
I'm guessing Windows users reboot much more often, albeit unintentionally.
