It’s Out!

The App Store is live, and you can go get Exposure right now. Of course, you won’t be able to run it until you have an iPhone or iPod touch upgraded to OS 2.0, but you’ll at least get to see the screenshots.

Here’s a quick screenshot of the killer feature: Near Me:

I’m using Exposure - I keep getting:

Failed on (null) because “Operation could not be completed. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 302.)”

I authenticated with Flickr correctly, but photos won’t download.

Yes - I keep getting those error messages too. Perhaps you could just leave the images as un-downloaded if an error occurs? The app is very hard to use when you get dozens of errors in a row.

Otherwise, it looks good. And the way you included ads seems OK. I’ll be interested to know if this pays off for you.

That error is only when I’m on WiFi - over EDGE everything seems fine.

I’m definitely aware of some issues with the possibility of getting multiple stacked alerts. 1.0.1 will be a lot less chatty.

I get the same errors as James plus I tried to “Post to Twitter” a photo and it crashed and restarted the iPhone.

See screenshot here of the error window: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaxmac/2656359984/

Thanks,

Scott

Thanks Fraser.

By the way, the ‘Near Me’ function is brilliant. It found an image of the external view of the window I sit near and told me it was 3.6 metres away, which is just about perfect.

One additional problem with ‘Near Me’ it doesn’t seem to ever update your location. With other location-aware apps, the spinner starts in the top bar next to the wifi/edge indicator. Not so with Exposure. It says acquiring location, but no spinner, and no location update.

James, there should be some fixes in 1.0.1 for this.

Great app, I love using it. The near me function is super fun.

Will future versions support uploading pictures, and if so will the program support geo-tagging, not just for photos you take right away but photos you keep in your camera roll for a spell?
