*tap tap* Is this thing on?

Holidays sometimes give you time to sit back and look at the way things are going, make changes and decisions about the future. This holiday has been so relaxing that I couldn’t even muster up the requisite anger when April decided to write my name on the car today …. with a stone.

So speirs.org is the home of my new blog. Same author, similar content, looks a bit different. Hopefully it’ll be a little less intimidating to correspondents from outside the LiveJournal world. I had been accepting anonymous comments for a while on LJ, but it seems that people didn’t always realise that it was possible to comment without an LJ or OpenID login.

Anyway, welcome to the new blog. Don’t forget to subscribe :-)

It seems to be on.

Just helping you test out your comment-spam plugins. Did this make it through? Woo, I can do basic addition!

Hey! It works! I wonder if it would help the quality of discusison on the internet if textual CAPTCHAs were actually general knowledge questions?

Looks good! Which plugin are you using for the math CAPTCHA? I’ve personally found Akismet to be effective enough that I haven’t needed the added step, but it’s good to see it works.

Ok, scratch that. 2 + 5 = 7. Why is this throwing errors? Reloading the page now…

Maybe it was a reboot or something. Worked after a reload, and presumably this time too.

You correct about commenting on LiveJournal. I did comment once on your LJ blog, but went and got an OpenID to do it.

Any chance of installing the OpenID plugin here? :-)

It’s a pretty trivial exercise - only took me a few second on Coffee & Complexity.

My browsers (Safari & Flock, both on a mac) are having trouble finding an RSS feed on this page. They both show that there is a feed, but I can’t subscribe to them because they seem to be empty.
